Meet our Team

Jayne Bellwood

Hello and welcome to Tumble Bees, my name is Jayne Bellwood and I’m the founder of Tumble Bees Pre-School Gymnastics. I’m married with one son who is responsible for my decision to make a huge career change.

I worked in IT for many years travelling to different companies delivering training and implementing systems and sitting at a desk for hours on end.

Loving gymnastics as a child and seeing how much my young son was learning from attending classes, not to mention the fun he had I decided to train with British Gymnastics as a Pre-School Coach starting with Level 1 and later progressing to a Level 2 coaching qualification.

I started Tumble Bees classes in February 2013 and currently I deliver four weekly Pre-School Gymnastics classes at Bright Horizons nursery at first direct bank, eight weekly classes at my own studio, The Hive at Woodkirk Valley Country Club. I also work in partnership with Morley Cluster of Children’s Centres to deliver a weekly baby class and a Pre-School Gymnastics class.

I feel lucky to have had a great start to my gymnastics career as I had two fabulous mentors.  My Level 1 mentor was Brenda Webster and my Level 2 was Jackie Tiffany, I feel I owe such much of my success to them both.

January 2017 was an exciting time for me as Nikki Lodge-Frear came on board as a franchisee to run Tumble Bees Kirklees and Calder offering classes to more children in areas I’m unable to reach myself.  January 2018 is another exciting time as Kate Dunn will be starting her franchise running classes in Airedale and Wharfedale.

When I’m not coaching I can often be found camping in a field and enjoying the great outdoors. I may be astride a horse but that’s generally an old pastime I enjoyed for years with some very fond memories.

Nikki Lodge-Frear

Hi, I’m Nikki Lodge-Frear and I’m the coach for Tumble Bees Kirklees and Calder. I have two young daughters who attend Tumble Bees with Jayne and they love it!

I started running public and nursery classes in a number of locations across Kirklees and Calderdale in January. It’s lovely to meet so many children and their adults, to get to know them and see them improve.

Before I became a Tumble Bees coach I was an Early Years and Key Stage 1 teacher for 8 years.

I also have a background in gymnastics and trampolining. I started out in gymnastics at a very early age, before switching to trampolining and competing at National Level.

After retiring from competing I became a coach and judge and I still coach for Kirklees Rebound Trampoline Club in Huddersfield. Whilst training to be a teacher I lived in Scarborough for a number of years and during my time there I coached at Scarborough Gymnastics Academy.

When I’m not coaching gymnastics or trampolining I like to sing with my choir, go for days out with my family and watch Formula 1 and football.

Kate Dunn

Hi, I’m Kate Dunn and I am the coach for Tumble Bees Airedale and Wharfedale.

I am married and a mum of two gorgeous girls who entertain me daily!

I started my Tumble Bees adventure with my eldest daughter in early 2015 when she was 4 months old and haven’t left since!

After leaving university with my teaching qualification, I went into Nursery day care leading the Early years curriculum. I then took the plunge back into school with an Assistant teacher role so I could work part time to look after my children.

I have always specialised in Early years education as I feel it is the most important time of a child’s journey through life.

Seeing my daughters develop and grow through pre school gymnastics has made me want to bring these important skills to others around me.

When the chance of setting up Tumble Bees seesions in my area came up I grabbed it with both hands so I have since trained with British gymnastics as a Level 1 pre school coach.

Spending time with all my family and friends and taking the dog for long walks around beautiful Yorkshire is what I like to do best!
